z-axis
The z-axis is orthogonal on the x-axis and the y-axis.
Explanation
You can describe each point in a body by cartesian coordinates (x, y, z). The x-axis runs from −∞ to +∞, the y-axis runs from −∞ to +∞, and the z-axis runs also from −∞ to +∞.
